The Old Coach House - a rural idyll
Murphy would like someone (preferably a couple and people who enjoy walking) to look after him and his feathered friends when the bosses are away!
Our Home & Location
The Old Coach House is a five bedroomed period house, sitting in about an acre of land, with magnificent views of the Derbyshire Hills and the Cheshire countryside. It sits in parkland and is quite remote, being about 3 miles from the nearest shops. It is equidistant from Macclesfield and Congleton, each about 4 miles away and Manchester Airport and City Centre can be reached in under an hour by car or from Macclesfield train station.
The house is semi-detached, with the other property being owned by the owner's mother. Other neighbours are sufficiently close so as not to feel completely isolated....
The house has a large lounge, snug, well-equipped kitchen, conservatory, five bedrooms, three bathrooms and beautiful gardens for relaxing in. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Murphy needs one good walk a day. He is very loveable but quite excitable. He is okay off his lead and won't run off, but he needs supervising around other people and dogs. He's very friendly and will always go to say hello! If there are small children or vulnerable people ahead, I tend to put him on the lead just to reduce the risk of him knocking them over in his enthusiasm to greet them!
He is used to having people in the house and doesn't like to be left on his own for too long in the day....
He is very happy to travel in a car as there are some fantastic walks further afield.
The chickens have an automatic feeder which may need topping up from time to time depending on the length of the house-sit. We will always ensure that the feeder is full before we go away and therefore they should not be an issue.
If you like wild birds, we have a lot of visiting birds, including goldfinches, nuthatches, woodpeckers. To encourage them, we have a supply of wild bird feed and peanuts, which can be filled at your discretion, but it is not necessary. + More info
