Sitter for a lovely cat in a house just outside Harrogate
I am a recently retired teacher and live with my husband and cat in this delightful part of North Yorkshire. We are looking for a sitter for our lovely cat Timble. She is 12 years old but is very active.
Our Home & Location
Our house is a comfortable, extended 3 bedroom semi in the charming village of Pannal, 3 miles from the spa town of Harrogate. It has 3 double bedrooms (2 with double beds in and one with 2 single beds). One of the doubles has an ensuite. Downstairs there's a through dining room/lounge with a log fire (although there are doors which can separate them) and quite a large kitchen. The back garden is paved, decked and has a summer house. There is room for 2 cars on the front drive.
We are very conveniently situated, being less than 5 minutes walk from both the Co-op and the station and a Marks and Spencers food outlet is only 0.5 miles away at the BP garage. The Black Swan pub in neighbouring Burn Bridge is only a mile away. There are also beautiful walks in the area and we are very close to part of the Harrogate Ringway walk as well as many other footpaths....
Harrogate, with it's famous Betty's Tea Room, Harlow Carr Gardens, Montpellier Quarter with the Royal Pump Room Museum, the restored, Moorish-style Turkish Baths & Health Spa, the leafy Valley Gardens which feature the art deco Sun Pavilion, the Harrogate Theatre and many shops and eateries are easily accessible by train or bus (saving problems with parking).
The historic and fascinating city of York, with it's famous Minster, Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and theatre is 21 miles away. Leeds, with it's modern shopping centre, bars, music and sporting venues and the Royal Armouries is about 14 miles away. Both Leeds and York are easily reached on the train.
Other places to visit nearby include Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks (both National Trust), Harewood House, Mother Shipton's Cave and Ripley and Knaresborough Castles.
Pannal is on the eastern edge of the spectacular Yorkshire Dales, with Nidderdale and Wharfedale being the closest dales, so if you enjoy walking this is definitely an area for you!
Please note that while families are very welcome, it is currently only suitable for children over 5 years old. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
It's mostly just feeding , looking after and giving attention to our Timble. Occasionally her litter tray might need changing - she doesn't usually use it, she usually goes out, but she always has one and sometimes she uses it.
