Quiet Northamptonshire village home with 4 cats needing cuddles while I'm away
Having graduated as a vet in 1984 I am now in a position to volunteer some of my time and give back a little of my experience to help trap/neuter/vaccinate/release street animals in deprived areas of the world. A small drop in a large ocean of need but such a positive effect on those that we can help improving their quality of life, health and longevity without them adding to the overpopulation problems.
Our Home & Location
This is a cosy barn conversion - the building itself is probably about 250 years old but was converted around 14 years ago so has all the modern conveniences but lots of original exposed beams that give it a charming personality. It is located on a quiet village high street in the Northamptonshire countryside. Milton Keynes and Northampton are just 20 minutes away. Trains run from MK to London taking half an hour. It's about 1 hour drive to the historic cities of Oxford or Cambridge. For golfers there are courses aplenty. But if it's fresh air you are after just step outside the door for beautiful walks. Also just 5 miles away is the Grand Union Canal which provides mile upon mile of delightful walking.
Towcester is 3 miles away and has a small High Street and supermarkets with coffee shops and the usual banks and take-aways, pubs and restaurants.
Please let me know if you would like to use my car - it's small but (so far) reliable and I will add you temporarily to my insurance. If you do use the car though I would ask that you take me to and collect me from the Airport
Responsibilities & Pets
My 4 cats all came back to the UK with me from from Kuwait where I worked for 7 years. All are rescues, Two British Blues that were no longer wanted and two persian mixed breed cats that were rescued in desperate condition from the streets. One is totally blind, the other has only one eye. All have adapted amazingly but I really feel that staying in a familiar place is so important for them. They are only allowed into my enclosed garden supervised and are more accurately house cats! They will all need some brushing although they are not all so keen on that idea always(I have cats after all!) and all the information you will need to keep them safe and secure will be provided of course. Tuta will need to take a tablet medication - but she is very good about it.
