Pet sitting close to Oxford
Our family consists of 3 humans - James - (in business development), Vicki (physiotherapist) and Caitlin (homework avoider, trampoline bouncer, drama queen in the making), and 2 pets - Dennis and Dave. We require housesitters for the half term holiday whilst we are away. Dennis (dog) has gone to home stay 'kennels' in the past but seemed to love having house sitters instead for our last 3 holidays. We also would appreciate a house sitter who is able to keep a close eye on our rather frail and elderly cat instead of relying on someone just popping in now and then.
Our Home & Location
Spacious home with small secluded garden - definitely a family home rather than a show house! Although we are located just off a main road, it is surprisingly quiet, and we have a good bus service that will take you into the heart of beautiful Oxford in about 20 minutes, where you can get lost amongst the 'dreaming spires', mess around on the river, or indulge in some retail therapy. In the opposite direction the bus will take you to the pretty town of Woodstock with its stunning Blenheim Palace.
We have varied walks accessible from the house - into fields, along the canal, or up onto historical Spring Hill, with many other options just a short drive away. The village of Yarnton has a very useful shop and a couple of decent pubs all within walking distance. Nearby villages, Woodstock and Oxford offer a vast range of pubs, restaurants and tourist attractions too. Our nearest town - Kidlington - has a large supermarket with pharmacy, and a leisure centre with swimming pool. There is also an outdoor pool in nearby Woodstock.
Responsibilities & Pets
Daily pet care - 2 dog walks a day (at least 1 long one) and some play time - frisbees and balls are a big hit with him. Dennis is fine with being left at home for several hours but would ask that this was not done on a daily basis since he does love human company. He travels well in the car, and loves other dogs and people although he can be quite vocal about it!
Cat -fed twice a day. Litter tray to be cleaned / changed as required. Dave loves a lap to sit on; he is locked in at night (in the lounge and kitchen area) but free to roam during the day (but doesn't often venture outside)....
General household upkeep, putting bins out on Thursday, watering the flower beds and pot plants (outside and inside) twice a week etc. + More info
