2 friendly energetic dogs in beautiful coastal city of plymouth
My name is Amy and i am a single Mum of my gorgeous 7 yr old daughter Jessica.
I work as a mental health practitioner for livewell southwest. I provide EMDR therapy and a range of other interventions for children with mental health struggles....
We like to go away a lot and often take the dogs on camping trips but we also like to go abroad to visit family or stay with friends where its often not possible to bring the dogs.
Its hard work being a single mum, working full time and walking two energetic dogs. Who we love dearly but its nice to get a break from the responsibility occasionally.
I feel very guilty putying my dogs in kennels as they are home dogs and love to be around you cuddled up on the sofa. It would make me feel so happy to be able to see them relaxed at home and enjoying walks and company while I'm away.
Of course the cost of kennels is also a real struggle!
I found out about this site as my Mum is on here as a sitter. She will have them when she can but now she's retired she is jet setting off around the world most of the time enjoying her retirement. + More info
Our Home & Location
I was worried about coming on this site as I don't have an amazing home. Its a modest 3 bedroom red brick terrace on a housing estate on the very edge of Plymouth in Staddiscombe.
However it is a great location. The house is on the edge of some amazing countryside and coastal walks. Wembury national trust beach is 2 miles down the road aswell as bovisand beach, jennycliff with it's amazing views across the city. You can easily catch the bus from jusy outside into the city and you can also get the water taxi over the plymouth barbican from Mount Batton which is about 2 miles away.
The dogs are used to bring left while im out so there's lots of opportunity to visit the city and what it has to offer....
There is an amazing coastal walk with some lovely pub stops which are walkable from the house if your a walker or a short car jouney.
Alternatively if you want to give the dogs a quick run there are fields and playing fields right on the door step.
There are lots of national trust propertys nearby. Saltrum house and buckland Abbey are my favourite. I can leave you my national trust card if required.
Larger beaches such as Bigbury on sea and Banthum are about a 30 min drive and Cornwall is only a few miles away over the tamar bridge or in the car ferry.
So much to list but i can leave you maps and more information on whats around locally if you choose to sit for me. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
To look after my 2 dogs Pepper and Daisy.
They would need feeding twice a day, let out in the garden and mess cleaned up (sorry!). To make sure they have access to fresh water. They need one long walk or two short ones every day and timings can be up to you. They like company and are happy to come along with you for long walks and sit in the pub! They enjoy cuddles on the sofa and a treat given before bed at night.
Both dogs are quite energetic but in the evening are very relaxed and chilled. They are quiet at night and sleep downstairs in their beds....
Daisy the border terrier does not like other dogs so has to stay on the lead and avoid her greeting them. She also has a high prey drive and wants to chase cats or sheep. The best bet is to keep her on the lead. She is a very affectionate dog and is very good with children. She loves cuddles on the sofa.
Pepper is very friendly and is fine off the lead once she knows you. She is the opposite and can be a bit timmid with other dogs. She hasn't been spayed so goes into season twice a year. If shes in season has to stay on the lead. She also loves cuddles and is very gentle.
They both love going out gor a walk and as soon as you pick up the leads they start jumping about in excitement.
They are both used to going out in the car but do have a tendency to jump over but i can leave you my dog guard. + More info
