3 Cats, large detached house in Southsea/Portsmouth!
Hi, we're Jo & Dave. We both work in tech & live together in Portsmouth with our 3 cats, and a fish tank. We like to travel a lot and one of our cats require some special care (nothing to worry about!) so we prefer to have someone who can stay in the house rather than someone who can just pop in occasionally.
Our Home & Location
We have a 4 bedroom detached house in Southsea/Portsmouth in a lovely quiet housing estate. We're a 20 minute walk from Fratton Train Station, and a 5 minute walk from a large Tesco, and the best brewery in the world! (Staggeringly Good).
The house has a large kitchen/diner with oven, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, Alexa, and 48" television. Dining table seats up to 8 people. French doors open up onto a large paved garden which has it's very own bar complete with LED lighting (yep!), outdoor furniture & gas bbq. Smoking is fine in the garden....
Lounge has 2 sofas, 49" TV with Netflix. It also has my office as I work from home.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with en suite with shower, Dave's office, and 2 spare double bedrooms plus the main bathroom (with bath and shower).
Parking is free and right outside the house. There's a park across the road where the cats love to go and walk with you (Zak especially will come for walks!).
As we're looking for someone to cat sit over the Xmas period, the house will be festively decorated, and there's plenty of space for cooking and entertaining with an 8 seat dining table. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have 3 cats, who are as follows:
Charlie (the fat ginger one one) - huge cuddly ginger boy, bit nervous of strangers and loud noises, but once he gets to know you he will love to give kisses and sleep on the bed with you....
Joel (the bald, alpha one) - He's a very spritely old man, got a bit of fur loss (we call him baldy bum) due to getting on a bit, but he loves being picked up and held like a baby. He likes to sleep on your head too. He's the alpha in that Charlie adores him and loves to play, but Joel and Zak have a bit of a feud going on and tend to occupy different parts of the house.
Zak (the fluffy, complicated one) - A very special cat. Highly intelligent, absolutely loves cuddles and belly rubs but only on his terms. Doesn't like being picked up (he will growl and sometimes hiss - but never attacks anyone). He loves following you for walks (so much so we have to put him in the house before going anywhere as he will run up the road after you). He has recently been diagnosed with asthma, which is nothing to worry about, just that he needs a little supervision. He's quite happy being outside but he doesn't understand that when it's cold it makes him cough so needs to be kept in.
They get fed dry food twice a day (in different parts of the house due to the Joel/Zak war), have litter trays that they occasionally use but mostly go outside. We prefer someone to stay in the house because Joel and Zak don't get along, and also because of Zak's asthma, so it's just to make sure they're not left alone for long periods of time.
