Friendly house sitter wanted for 3 weeks in July
We are animal lovers who don't want to leave our dogs or cat in kennels whilst we go away for our annual holiday. we want somebody we can trust to not only look after our two small dogs and house cat, but someone who will look after and respect our home. Our house is in a nice leafy suburb of Greater Manchester, in a small village centre with a lovely, peaceful rear aspect. We do not want to put our two young dogs into kennels, nor our cat into a cattery and would much prefer for someone who loves animals like we do, to look after and care for them whilst enjoying the ear that we live in. We are both non-smokers and so would need to ensure that any pet sitters are also non smokers.
Our Home & Location
We have a small, but lovely, quirky house built c1862 around seven miles south of Manchester City Centre. Our home is quirky and cosy with central heating, has Sky TV and high speed broadband Wifi. The rear garden is a decent size and gets the sun for most of the day. The house has last year undergone some work to open up the kitchen-diner, with french doors opening up onto the rear garden. It has a large fridge, range cooker and large fitted kitchen/diner with TV, wing back chairs and sofa. A second separate lounge room has a large screen TV with Sky, log burner and two relaxing sofas. The house has a ground floor shower room. The rear garden has gated parking spaces and backs directly onto a large natural parkland which is ideal for walking dogs and where Agatha Christie once resided. Our front door opens onto a small, lovely village leafy suburb with a few nice pubs, restaurants, local shops including mini-supermarkets, fishmonger, greengrocer, bakery and high street banks - there is everything you need during your stay. There is a large John Lewis within a five minute drive from our home, or a 10 minute walk takes you to the MetroLink, where you can take a tram to Manchester City Centre as do a frequent bus service within a hundred yards.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our two sibling (female) miniature black-labs (born August 2017) look forward to 2 x 40 minute walks each day. They are good on the lead and once in the nearby fields can be let off for a good run and stretch, both are good on recall too. They require a meal early morning and then again late afternoon. They are both house trained but do have the occasional accident in the house. We have a baby gate on the stairs so they are only allowed on the ground floor and outside. The ground floor is tiled so is easily wiped or moped if any accidents happen. They also require constant access to their water bowls. They will need to have their poo's collected from the garden and put into a wheelie bin. During the summer months they both like nothing more to stretch out around the back garden. Our house cat does her own thing and sleeps most of the time but usually comes out from hiding in cupboards during the evening and will sit on your lap and just purr and fall asleep. She will need her cat litter emptying into the same wheelie bin every day, and likes a breakfast and mid-afternoon meal along with fresh water. All three of our pets are very lovable and very easy going.
