House and pet sitting in rural Oxfordshire
We are looking for a house/pet sitter in our lovely house in the friendly village of Northmoor in rural Oxfordshire, England. All our animals are extremely well behaved!
There is no public transport in the village so a car is a great advantage. We can make an ancient Land Rover Discovery available if required. There is however a terrific community owned pub within 5 mins walk!...
Northmoor is a great location for Christmas shopping trips! Oxford's brand new Westgate Centre, Bicester Village and Cheltenham are all within easy reach. + More info
Our Home & Location
Whether you are interested in walking, cycling or fishing, looking at historic buildings and museums or driving through the Oxfordshire countryside or The Cotswolds there are plenty of opportunities within a few miles of Northmoor. Stratford upon Avon and Bath are a one hour drive away. You can take a walk through the field beside the house to the water meadows and banks of the River Thames. Within 20 minutes you can reach Northmoor Lock and watch holidaymakers taking their boats through the lock.
The Oxfordshire Cycleway passes our front door - so if cycling is your hobby you have found the perfect place to stay!
The colleges of Oxford University, and the Oxford museums and art galleries are renowned throughout the world. Visit them on foot or enjoy a tourist bus ride of this ancient city of culture. There are also many historic houses which are open to the public.
Blenheim Palace, home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough, and one of Britain's greatest houses, is the Birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill....
The Cotswolds provide one of those typical corners of England with its own unique history, architecture, heritage and tradition. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Responsibilities include feeding dog, cats, horse, chickens and ducks daily and goldfish occasionally Jack, the horse, will either be in the field (not stabled) or away from home. Bramble is a 4 year old Flat Coated Retriever. She likes a walk first thing in the morning and late afternoon after supper - and any other time of day! There is a walk down to the river Thames alongside the house.
No housework required apart from keeping things tidy but a little gardening might be very useful.
