Family home in Somerset
My name is Alice. I'm married to Matthew and we have two children aged 12 and 14. I work part time in wildlife conservation and wildlife film making, and Matthew works in renewable energy.
Our Home & Location
We live in a 4-bedroomed terraced house in Axbridge, a village in Somerset that's famous for its medieval square. We have off-street parking, a reasonably-sized garden and a garage for storage. We can make 3 of the bedrooms available for visitors (1 double, 1 single suitable for a child and 1 single en suite suitable for adult or child).
There's a Co-op within a minute's walk open 6 am to 10 pm every day, and we have a Post Office, two pubs, a hotel/restaurant and a tea shop, not to mention a 36-seat mini-cinema called the Roxy. We're in lovely countryside at the foot of the Mendip Hills, with plenty of walks up the hills for the energetic, or in the opposite direction out onto the 'levels' to the south. It's beautiful walking country. We're 3 miles from the famous Cheddar Gorge. There's a bus service that runs to the cathedral town of Wells in one direction (30 mins) and to Weston Super-Mare in the other direction. But it's still very useful to have a car. We're 25 mins from the nearest train stations (Worle or Yatton) and 20 mins from Bristol airport. It's about 50 mins into Bristol itself....
The house is well equipped but internet in our area is basic. We don't have a tumble dryer but there's a washing line in the garden and an indoor clothes rack. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
The house doesn't need much looking after! The hamster needs food every couple of days and the cage to be cleaned once a week.
