Sitter wanted for adorable family pets in stunning rural location
We have three generations of family living in two houses. Grandparents spend several months abroad and during this time I stay with them. My husband is at home but works long hours so cannot look after our pets. He will return to our house in the evenings. The two houses are on the same site so are easily accessible across a courtyard but are completely separate so your privacy is assured. You will have responsibility for 1 dog and cat all day and night in one house and also another dog and cat in the other house when my husband is at work. The dogs are firm friends so would be looked after together.
We left them for a couple of weeks earlier in the year with no issues and they stayed with a pet sitter. However, we think that they would be happier staying at home when we go away in August.
Our Home & Location
We are in Wookey, a beautiful rural village location a few miles from the city of Wells. There are two houses and the sitters will have access to both in the daytime. In the evening they will have full use of a two bedroom cottage, with kitchen diner, living room and two bathrooms ( so would suit a couple or two friends). There is a garden which leads to an orchard (trampoline, swings and slide!). We have wi-fi and Amazon prime in both houses.
The village has 3 pubs, all within walking distance a coffee shop/shop with basics and GREAT coffee and homemade cakes! There is also a goat farm with shop in the village....
All of this is walkable so a car isn't necessary.
The local city of Wells is within walking distance or a drive of less than 5 mins. There is a stunning cathedral, farmers' market (Weds and Fri) and other attractions. Wookey Hole and caves is approx 5 minutes away. For shopping there is Clarks Village or further afield is Bath or Bristol about and hours drive away.
The area is popular with tourists and there is lots to do. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have two beautiful young dogs who are very friendly. They are used to seeing each other daily but then having some of their own space. They like to play in the garden but can't go into the orchard unsupervised. They like one or two daily walks. Due to their ages they cannot be left alone for long periods so we need someone who will stay with them or be confident to take them out with them and keep them in a safe and suitable environment.
In addition each house has a cat! There is a younger cat who is very affectionate but likes to come and go as she pleases. in the other house, there is an elderly blind cat. He needs his litter tray changing and some company ( brushing, feeding upstairs etc) as he does not leave the bedroom....
They are all lovely companionable pets who will make your stay! + More info
