Gentle elderly and elegant whippet x
Misty will be 15yrs of age on 1st June and doing remarkably well considering her ill health - she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on her back leg over 4 yrs ago but still enjoys 2 walks each day and 2 quick spend penny trips and the rest of the day she curls up in her bed relaxing and watching what's going on.
Our Home & Location
We live in a good area of Torquay called the Lincombes, which is hilly but very quiet. Our flat is on the third floor (serviced by 2 lifts) of a block of modern apartments surrounded by lovely gardens with fabulous views of the sea in central Torquay , South Devon. Agatha Christie was a famous resident of Torquay and whoever sits for me will have access to her holiday home and other National Trust properties. Torquay sits on a beautiful bay in South Devon with the picturesque Dartmoor within a 30 minute drive away. Close by worth visiting is Kingswear and Dartmouth where the famous Royal Naval College stands (where Queen Elizabeth first set eyes on the Duke of Edinburgh) overlooking the river. Also within 10 minutes walk is Lincombe Manor a retirement complex which is open for coffees and meals. Plus many lively pubs which offer live music in the evenings. I would prefer a single female as Misty shares my bed each night.
Responsibilities & Pets
As I dont have a secure garden (and dogs not permitted to utalise toilet stops in the gardens) it is necessary to take Misty out first thing in the morning for a walk lasting around 30 minutes . I mostly take her to Daddyhole Plain (which offers breathtaking views over Torbay) in the mornings or Torwood Gardens down the steps into town and back via the surrounding roads. Then in the afternoon we take a walk to the nearby Lincombe Woods just above Meadfoot Beach, usually lasting about 30 minutes. Then a final toilet visit just before bedtime. She will need daily administration of simple medication, mixed into her dinner and fresh water every day.
