Dog sitting in Yorkshire
We are a family including mum, dad, 10yr old boy and 5yr old girl and the boys - labrador dogs Max 7 yrs and Bailey 3 yrs. The humans have some holidays booked but the boys can't come. We would welcome a confident dog person to come and enjoy exploring the area and looking after the boys who are just lovely to have around. Brilliant at home and usually fine on a walk but can pull on the lead even though they know what heal is! And recall is good with a biscuit in your hand. They love a run around on a walk and we have lots on our doorstep.
Our Home & Location
Our house is an old cottage in the village of Ackworth near Pontefract and Wakefield and not far off the M62 and A1. We are in a lovely village with all the amenities you would need and a few good eating pubs within walking distance. There are lots of walks from the cottage including a couple miles cross country to the National Trust Nostell Priory for walks in the parkland or lunch or hit drink in the courtyard. If you prefered it's a 5 minute drive. We have a characterful home with 3 bedrooms, a good size master, my sons room has bunk beds and my daughters is a single but can have a pull out another single too. We have a main bathroom with a bath and shower which is off the middle landing and a toilet and shower room off the hall way downstairs. The dogs stay downstairs and are let into the garden from the dining room which is next to the kitchen. We also have a lounge and snug room. We have a busy garden that's a good size and lovely to sit out in. It is a mature garden and has losts of fruit trees and a BBQ with table and chairs (if it was the right time of year). The dogs are happy pottering in the garden and this is our way in and out, using the side gate, with an outside hose to wash any mud off on your return. All the clobber for dog walks and the washing machine are in the garage. The village has a regular bus service and there are train stations in Wakefield and Pontefract. The Cottage is set back off Pontefract Road which is the A628.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have 2 male labradors who are great company in the house and have a walk either end of the day or one big one to release their energy. They are used to being left during the day for 3 days a week so you would be able to leave them and go out between walks.
