House sitter for converted barn with two dogs Aug 13-23
We're looking for a house sitter to take care of our lovely house and dogs whilst we're away. Myself and my husband work in the art industry so our house is full of art, mid century and modern furniture. I do a lot of writing and working from home, the house is very peaceful and we have lovely neighbours. Our two dogs are absolutely sweethearts, although they do need someone who knows how to be in charge - they're both very obedient, but different to spaniels/ labradors as they're quite willful/ stubborn breeds. They're not naughty, but they do need a firm leader. Our ten year old daughter is normally the one in charge!
Our Home & Location
We live in a 4 bed converted barn between Hertford and Welwyn. It is next to 3 other houses and surrounded by the countryside. There is a front garden and drive for parking and a lovely back garden with views across the fields. The main lounge is a large open plan space with high ceilings and lots of light. The room for house sitters has its own en suite shower room and is located on the first floor. The nearest railway station is 5 mins drive away and the train goes directly in to London Kings Cross (30 mins) or to Cambridge. Hatfield House is also nearby, as is Knebworth House. We're surrounded by lots of pretty villages with local pubs. The country side is wonderful for walking.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main duties are feeding, walking and spending time with the dogs. They absolutely love people and can't be left more than 4 hours by themselves. They are fed twice a day and walked once a day for 30-60 minutes depending on the weather. If its too hot they just get a short walk in the fields at the back of our house. The garden also needs to be watered. Apart from that there aren't any duties!
