Tabbi & Prue Housesitter
Hi, we are an active, professional retired couple who retired at the end of 2015.
Our Home & Location
We live in a small town to the South West of Bristol.
We live in a modern bungalow in a quiet cul de sac with friendly neighbours....
The town (15 minutes walk and on a bus route) is served by most banks, a post office, Waitrose and Tesco as well as a Coop, SpecSavers, Poundland, M&Co, New Look, lots of places to eat out including a Costa Coffee Shop. There are Doctors and Dentists in the town as well as hairdressers and beauticians and a sports complex.
Churches are local as well as a local shop just 5 minutes walk away.
Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom bungalow is approached by shallow steps and has a hand rail to assist you if needed. It has hard floors and underfloor heating and is very spacious. The cats sleep in the utility room which has an automatic washing machine and separate drier mounted on a plinth for easy access. We also have a study with well stocked book shelves.
Our lounge is a large room with sofas, an individual armchair and footstall, there is a large wall mounted Smart TV with recorder and DVD player connected. French doors lead to the garden.
The kitchen/diner has electric ovens and a gas hob along with kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, dining table and chairs and doors out to the garden.
We have a small, mature garden and are un-overlooked. It is beautifully quiet and we are very close to open countryside and walks.
We have access to both bus and train routes and a favourite trip is to Bath on the train. The railway line is from London, Paddington to Exeter and Weston Super Mare. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Tabbi has 3 legs so finds it hard to stay outside for long (unless it is hot) whilst Prue (no tail) likes to be outside for short visits. Prue has a painful spine so takes medication each morning. She is often sick after breakfast. Each cat has access to Iams Senior biscuits and a really tiny bit of white fish in cat milk twice a day. They ask to go to bed at 7pm!!! This doesn't always happen if we have been out later or if we go out earlier and aren't back at that time but if you are in you would notice them staring at you......LOL. Prue uses the cat litter tray but Tabbi prefers to go outside. We keep them in at night and when we go out anywhere for more than a few minutes. You would be welcome to go for days out but we would appreciate ensuring both cats are indoors before you leave. They both love company and Prue, particularly, loves a lap to sit on.
Prue was born without her tail and we suspect she has a slight deformity which is just beginning to cause her pain, hence the medication. She also needs Katalax occasionally which she licks off her fur so not difficult to give her. Poor old Tabbi was shot which resulted in her leg being amutated. This happened when she was 2 years old and when we lived in Essex. She copes well but this does mean cold or damp weather is not so good for her.
