House sitting with pets mainly short breaks
I am a very home-based person, not away very often and usually for only short breaks. I wish my pets to have the security and continuity of staying in their home during my absence.
Leah is very sweet and obedient, recall 100%. Frightened of traffic so on lead along roads. She is used to sleeping in my bedroom.
Jewel is adorable and loves all dogs. Warning - she steals balls! Recall now excellent, aided by a tube of Primula cream cheese. Has no conception of traffic so on lead for any street walking. She sleeps on the bed!
The birds are very sociable and entertaining, but their moods need to be watched if the occasional nip is to be avoided! They must remain in their cage to avoid any danger of escape. Ability to whistle along with them would be a distinct advantage!
I would especially like the dogs to get to know and trust my sitters, so it would be nice to meet over a few cuppas and become friends .
Our Home & Location
This is a seaside town but a lovely quiet one without all the usual bling. All the supermarkets are in the area and all kinds of other shops. Lakes, beaches and parks also different seaside towns within easy reach.
Responsibilities & Pets
One long (45 mins, or more if you wish) walk in the morning and another short one later in the day. Plus garden or round the block before bedtime. My garden is pebble-based and very practical. A variety of tray-cooked meat and sachets to choose from plus the usual biscuit treats.
The birds are fed pellets, nuts, fruit and salad, with nibbles of pasta, rice, cooked veg, chicken or fish from your evening meal. Mid-morning treat is a square of toast with peanut butter! Pampered? Definitely not! Certain foods can be disastrous for parrots and must be avoided, but details will be provided.
