To look after my standard dachshund called Alfie
Alfie is an almost 2 year old standard long haired Dachshund. He's experienced a couple of house sits which have all gone very well.
I work from home so he’s used to be me being there and quite attached to me. I do leave him for up to 3/4 hours 1-3 times a week in his crate if I go out which he’s happy to do. We’re looking for someone who can give him lots of attention and at least 1 x hr walk a day or 2 x 30/40 mins a walk a day. Plus all the cuddles, play with him and feed him....
Alfie can be very stubborn if he doesn't want to do a certain walk and can be a bit of a pain if he doesn't want to go the way you want to go! I'll ensure there are plenty of dog treats if you need to bribe him!!
We have lived in Oakley for 3 years now and love living in this little village. My husband 'Spencer' has his own business www.clear-signal.com and works about 20 minutes away from here and I work for myself at home. We have a 11 year old son 'Theo' and a 8 year old daughter 'Florence'. Theo plays for the local football and cricket team and my daughter enjoys swimming and dance. I spend my time divided between the gym, walking Alfie, working from home and taking my children to and fro from m various clubs after school. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in a lovely Hampshire village near Basingstoke called ‘Oakley’. There are plenty of lovely country walks on our doorstep plus a few local shops and a pub 2 mins walk away. We’re a 10 minute drive from Basingstoke and 25 mins from Winchester or 50 mins on the train to London.
We have a four bedroom house, a bathroom and 2 en-suites. We have a nest heating system and fibre optic broad band. We have a small garden that backs onto the local village school but we have a outdoor seating area and a gas bbq for you to enjoy in the summer. We also have a kitchen and a separate utility room (Alfie has his crate in here). At the end of our road we have pathways leading to lovely country walks.
Responsibilities & Pets
To walk and feed Alfie twice a day. We would need the house kept tidy and our bins put out. Alfie has a crate and as long as hes's been walked I'd be happy to leave him for up to 4 hours to have a nap and his peanut butter kong treat. If you needed to leave him longer, I do use a local trusted dog sitter who is £12 a walk or £20 per day.
