Looking for House & Doggie Sitters
Hi there, we are the Williams family, Richard (52) Jane (49) and Evie who is 9! Our dogs are Buddy and Lola. Up until now we have has a friend who has dog and house sat for us but she has now moved and cannot do it anymore. We don't feel a kennel is the right place for our 2 doggies as they love their house and walks and human company!
We always feel happier knowing our dogs are in their own home, in their own routine and having a lovely time while we are away....
Richard and I own a hair salon called The Salon in Sherfield on Loddon where we currently live, Richard is the hairdresser and I run everything else! Evie goes to Bramley Village School and will be gong into year 5 in September. + More info
Our Home & Location
We are just about to move into our new house, so for this sitting we will already be there, even though its not far from where we are now there are plenty of new and exciting walks right on our door step.
Old Basing is a historic village just outside Basingstoke. There are 3 great pubs that serve fab food, a bakery, shop and church etc. We are only 5 minutes away from town where there is a mainline station which can take you directly to London in 40 minutes or Portsmouth and the coast in an hour. Basingstoke itself has lots of shopping, cinemas, bowling, swimming pools and loads of places to eat and drink....
Our house has plenty of parking and large garden, 3 bedrooms etc and by the time you arrive for this sitting we should be well settled in, so don't worry, no boxes to sit on! + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Our 2 doggies love a walk! We usually walk them in the morning before we go to work and school or if we are off, during the morning and there is a great walking common just over the road from our house. They usually like to relax for the bulk of the day in the house or lazing in the garden and we then take them out again in the evening or late afternoon for a sniff and a stretch! Both dogs have 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner in the evening.
We would like people who are not out for the whole day from morning to evening, the dogs are fine being left in the house on their own but we wouldn't leave them for more than about 4-5 hours as long as they have had a morning walk....
Buddy is a very large black Labrador and therefore is pretty strong!, he likes to run and does pull somewhat on his lead when walking to his walk! therefore we would prefer someone who has knowledge of bigger dogs or Labradors. Lola can get a little spooked by larger tan coloured dogs and has been known to run home from a walk before when she's scared! When we are in a safe walking area, not near the road, we always let them off their leads, they will run on ahead and explore but do follow us along. Buddy loves water and will always find even the tiniest drop to dive in, he loves a swim and a dive! Lola will paddle but is not a keen swimmer, even though she can swim.
They are both very affectionate dogs, Lola especially loves a cuddle and being chatted too and Buddy enjoys a good brush!
Both of our dogs sleep in our bedroom, Lola on our bed and Buddy on his camp bed. they are also both allowed on our furniture and upstairs in the house, our house is their house!
We do also have 2 fish which would need a sprinkle of food once a day!
As long as our house is kept clean and tidy and doggie poos picked up if there are any in the garden, we are happy for our sitters to treat our home as their own. + More info
