Thatched cottage in rural Hampshire with two dogs
Having recently retired( Nigel from accountancy, Alix from wedding catering) we would like to be able to travel more & safe in the knowledge that Tilly & Inca are happily cared for in their own home.
Our Home & Location
We live in a 400 year old thatched cottage with added light bright kitchen/ living area. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open fire in the cosy sitting room & an Aga in the kitchen. We have a large enclosed garden & footpaths straight from the house. It is in a village with a pub & church in walking distance but a car is essential. The location, a village four miles from Basingstoke, is great for walking & cycling ( if a bit hilly!) & close to the lovely Georgian town of Alresford & not far from Winchester & Odiham.
Responsibilities & Pets
Tilly is a Labrador/ Collie cross & in Jan 2016 had a litter of Labrasprollidoodle puppies, so we had to keep one, the adorable Inca! They have a basic 20-40 minute walk morning & evening but are very happy to have more. They can be lef t for about four hours at a time & are quite calm & happy in each other's company. They are fed dry food twice a day.
They are both very affectionate & like a cuddle/ tummy tickle- Inca's favourite trick is to climb behind you on a chair/ sofa & put her head on your shoulder. We are no longer precious about the furniture!! Tilly can occasionally be a bit protective of Inca with other dogs but there are plenty of quiet walks around where we rarely meet anyone. There are some fabulous walks straight from the house but they both travel well in the car if you want to go further afield - the coast & the South Downs are less than an hour away.
