House and dog sitting in beautiful old country house and 2 lovely dogs.
We are both self employed and as we have a house in France which we go to quite often from March to October we need a house/pet sitter and the first time we are going is 18-24 March 2019. The house is quite a large old house in the countryside although there are other houses very close by. One dog is an old Border Terrier called Rupert who is a bit deaf but very easy going and the other dog is a Hungarian Vizsla puppy called Nelly who is very sweet and growing every day and has her puppy moments and so needs a bit of discipline every now and again. She can go for short walks and is learning about a lead but is happy running around in the garden if a walk is out of the question.
Our Home & Location
We live in a beautiful old 5 bedroom house in Quarley 5 miles west of Andover. It is in the country side so a car is essential and Grateley station is only a mile away with regular trains to London. Although it is in the countryside there are several houses around it so it is not isolated. The main room we live in is a kitchen/dining/sitting room which has a conservatory off if and French doors to a walled garden and terrace.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main responsibility is to look after the 2 dogs with a dog walk every day. Nelly is still a puppy (4 months at the moment) and Rupert is 12 years old so neither of them require very long walks although Rupert will go for miles if on offer! Nelly need feeding 3 times a day and Rupert twice so someone would need to be at the house to feed Nelly at lunch time. There are a lot of lovely walks from the house and immediate access to Quarley Hill. The house also needs to be looked after but minimum cleaning, etc as we have a cleaner once a week. Depending on the time of year the lawn may need cutting. Otherwise general house keeping.
