House sitter required in beautiful Country Cottage in Yorkshire Wolds
I am a self employed Interior Designer with my husband a self employed cabinet maker, we own retail shops. My husband is a falconer and I am a horse rider. We own a property in Spain and visit this throughout the year along with work/travel commitments. Therefore, we require an animal lover to take care of our pets and who loves the Countryside.
Our Home & Location
Our house is a 300 year old cottage but brought right up to date. There are 3 x double bedrooms and a Loft Room. It is located in a small Hamlet of around 7 x homes in the foothills of the Yorkshire Wolds - a stunning area with beautiful walks and only 20-mins from York. The house is surrounded with gardens and adjoining paddock and stables. There are a number of out-buildings and The nearest village is approx 10 mins drive and there is a Country Pub and Village Shop with daily bus services. The nearest town is Pocklington and approx 10-mins drive this is a great Market Town and there is a market every week.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have two small terriers who are brother and sister. They love to walk regular but always on the lead as they like to hunt (typical terriers) We also have Eric a thoroughbred horse and Puzzle an Exmoor pony as companion. Eric is semi retired and happy to be left grazing - he likes the odd hack out but not necessary. They simply require feeding and rug changing each day in the winter, they are stabled each evening and the stables are next to the house. Their stables would require mucking out each day if this was the case. We also have 6 x chickens who are great egg layers during the Spring and Summer months, these would require closing in each night in their Chicken Coop-feeding in a morning and collecting their eggs. Our Birds of Prey are housed in their own aviaries and they need feeding each day and ensuring that their health is good, there is no need to handle or indeed enter their individual aviaries. We have a local Falconer who is on-hand if a problem arose.
