Parrot sitter with experience required and dog lover
Hello, We are a couple who like to travel but have been really limited for the last 6 years due to acquiring our child substitute after the illness of our 1st who has since died. Now we would like to be able to travel together again but don't know anyone who meets our needs. Ideally we are looking for a female sitter, doesn't smoke, doesn't swear, is happy to handle birds and give him time out of his cage. I am extremely houseproud so would be looking for a careful sitter/s who won't cause damage to any surfaces.
Our Home & Location
Rural in the extreme, sitter will need access to a vehicle as we are 10 minutes drive from the nearest town and no uber service exists. However, in exchange for no public transport you get clear dark skies at night, regular sightings of rare birds of prey including red kites. other birds to be seen are starlings, buzzards, herons, kestrels, perigrines and common garden song birds. If you're lucky we have a semi pet buzzard who sometimes turns up for feeding in the next field. Someone who likes gardening would be an advantage as we have a half acre of garden. If you are into Geocaching this is a rich area for hunts.
Fabulous views on a clear day and a perfect retreat from the rat race....
Our home is new and very precious to me so I would be looking for a house proud careful sitter as birds are extremely messy.
We are 40 minutes from the capital and 15 minutes from the mountains and seaside. local pub and restaurant is 5 minutes drive away. There are numerous great quiet walking roads to stretch your legs. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
I need a surrogate mother for Griffen my African Grey. He is used to being handled multiple times per day. prefers female company but will at a stretch tolerate males. He spends most of his evening while we watch TV either on his cage or flying between his perch and cage. He needs a good amount of company, feeding (obviously) and cleaning out. We also have a dog who needs a confident sitter as while he appears unfriendly at first, once he gets to know you (after a few dog treats) will rely on you for everything. He gets fed twice per day to balance his blood sugar levels. He loves long walks but is very head strong as he's a Spaniel.
