Two Great Friendly Dogs in Historic Scotland Cottage in Tyninghame, a Conservation village near the sea!
i am a mother of five children and grandmother of nearly ten! That sounds so many! The last two are due in the spring, one in April in London and one in Paris in May. They are one of the main reasons i need some help but i also like to gad a bit and visit the rest of the family. i would love to find someone who so enjoyed it here that they became regulars......
i try to visit my daughter in Paris quite often to cheer her on and plan to be around to help when the baby is born. My daughter in law in London will have her own Mum....
i am an artist, a carer and support those who are ageing and dying. i have just written a book on what i do which i am hoping to publish soon. i am passionate about the land, the environment and cultivating communities - so there is much coming and going here and i am involved in lots of things. i used to be a masseuse and yoga teacher but they are slipping behind me now- i am on to other things. + More info
Our Home & Location
My home is a well ordered simple space on one level. It has two bedrooms, one of which is mine. All four rooms face south and are full of sunshine including the small sitting room with its wood stove which heats the water and the radiators. There is an immersion for emergencies. There are electric radiators for really cold times but mostly the fire is fine, especially when you get to know it.
The kitchen is also small but very functional and it has a door into the garden where tables and chairs make the perfect spot for outdoor eating in the summer. You can walk from the garden onto the old playing fields and then into the estate woods. Blue has to stay on the lead down there until well into the gorgeous mature woodland as she loves to chase hare and that is not a good thing. The beach is the best place for her to run and she can!
Tyninghame is almost equidistant from both Dunbar and North Berwick, ( 5/6 miles and 2 from East Linton.) The most fab beach is five mins in the car. There are masses of walks and options here.. .Edinburgh a 40 min bus ride ( free if you are of a certain age!) and trains galore. The coastline is amazing and there is so much to see and do.
The village community is great and the hall very active - everyone is friendly. There is a great cafe across the road which is extremely busy especially with walkers and cyclists. great soups, sandwiches and cakes.
Responsibilities & Pets
My two dogs are used to good long walks every day and lots of cuddles. They can go out freely into the garden but i walk them nearby in the morning and usually take them to the sea in the afternoon. They get fed twice a day so when they have been out, and fed its fine to leave them for a few hours. Neighbours do step in to let them out if its longer but i usually take them with me as much as possible cos i love their company and they love the car!
Otherwise, the house just needs to be kept clean and tidy, the bins need to go out on specific days and in summer the garden is to be enjoyed. In winter i feed the birds every day. All details will be given on arrival.
