House sitter required in beautiful central Scotland to look after 2 labradors, one cat and 3 chickens
We live in the centre of the beautiful Highland town of Crieff, Perthshire, in Scotland. Known as the gateway to the Highlands, it is easily accessible by motorway, being roughly an hour away from Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is a very popular tourist destination due to the authentic heritage architecture and the incredibly beautiful surroundings. There is easy access to plenty of family-based outdoor activities including horseriding, watersports, hiking, cycling, quad biking and fishing, there is plenty for everyone.
Our house is located in the centre of Crieff, as we live in what used to be the old manager’s house, above the Bank of Scotland. It is very spacious and well proportioned, as it is the original Victorian building which was built in 1881. It is well equipped for family life, and though centrally located is surprisingly quiet. We have stunning views to the rear of the property, which we enjoy from the lounge and the kitchen. The garden to the rear of the house also has car parking facilities and plenty area for relaxing. We have lots outdoor seating including a fire pit, hot tub and barbecue. While there is not a huge amount of space for children to play, we have plenty of local parks and there is no shortage of space for kicking a ball about. Macrosty Park Is a five minute walk away, and has plenty of outdoor facilities for children including zip wires, roundabouts, swings, fountains and a cafe with refreshments for all. With the river running through the park it is a delightful experience....
If you like to go out to eat, there are plenty of really nice places including the Lounge bistro, Yanns, The Meadows Inn plus many more - all within walking distance. Further afield there are local hostelries on the side of beautiful loch Earn about 30 minutes away. + More info
Our Home & Location
How home is spacious and can offer two bedrooms if required. We have an ensuite shower room to our master bedroom, and a separate bathroom. The house is centrally heated, with double glazing throughout. We live conveniently above a bank, and also my brother’s fine wineshop ( Harrison’s fine wines) so no excuse to go short!
To the rear of the property is car parking space which is accessed from the main road. This leads straight onto our rear garden where our chickens live, and where we live in the summer. It is a quiet location (no loud music or mad parties) and our neighbours are extremely friendly.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have 2 lovely Labradors who need feeding and walking twice a day, a cat who lives outside and needs feeding too, and 3 rescue hens who are easy to look after, requiring 5 minutes in the morning, a quick hose down if their coop and egg collecting mid-morning.
