Scottish Family Home
We are a Scottish family of 4 - a nurse, an engineer and 2 daughters...although one daughter is leaving home for university in September 2018.
Our Home & Location
We live in a detached 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in a quiet cul-de-sac with lovely neighbours. Set in a beautiful rural area, Oldmeldrum is a village near to Inverurie. We have a primary and secondary school. A public park. Home to the Glen Garioch whisky distillery, a golf club, a couple of restaurants, pubs, pharmacy, doctors surgery, cafes, Hoodles childrens soft play area, Barra Castle home of Barra Berries. Meldrum House Hotel serves very fine food and has a wonderful atmosphere for those desiring a true Scottish fine dining experience. Locally there is an abundance of outdoor walking. Bennachie the munroe is a 15 minute drive, with breathtaking views. Haddo House estate is a short drive. Historic Scotland 'Pitmedden Gardens' nearby. Beautiful beaches within 20 - 45 minutes drive. Inverurie is a lovely nearby town a few miles away with all you could need. Further afield there are plenty of Castles to visit, Distillery tours, walks, historic towns. Aberdeen city is the closest city, 20 minutes by train from Inverurie railway station, 45 minutes approximately by car, or bus from the village in an hour. Aberdeen airport is approximately 15 minutes drive away. The beautiful Cairngorms are not too far nor is Balmoral Castle too far away. Too much to write it all down but this wonderful area has plenty to offer and is a gateway to many other Scottish counties.
Responsibilities & Pets
Stellar is a young (20 months but fully grown) gentle dog with simple needs. Walk me, love me and pay attention to me, feed me (Although she is not a hungry dog & sometimes does not eat her food which is normal). We have no specific walking routine for her. She is happy with one long walk, or 2 x short walks each day. She will choose to sit on your feet under the dining table or on your lap on a sofa. She is very affectionate.
Nova is gentle, independent and comes and goes through the catflap which her micro chip opens. She will come home to be fed morning and late afternoon....
Sophia is a typical tortoiseshell cat - quirky but skittish. She chooses when to come and sit on your lap. She is also gentle. She does not use the cat flap and needs to use a door to come in and go out. We have a litter tray for Sophia she sometimes uses it.
No animals of ours have ever bitten. + More info
