Caring Housesitter Needed
As I am on my own, I need a sitter so that I can take holidays and short breaks in the knowledge that my pets are being lovingly looked after. I have recently rescued another dog, Sasha, as a companion for Dolly and hope she may help keep Dolly young. Sasha has settled in very well and she and Dolly get along well. It has taken a bit longer getting her to bond with Misty but they now understand each other!! They are all hugely important to me so I need to be sure they will be looked after well whilst I'm away. Without this reassurance I would not be able to relax and enjoy myself.
Our Home & Location
I have just moved into a bungalow in Haverfordwest There are two bedrooms, a study, two bathrooms, living room and I've just had a brand new kitchen installed. Most of the house has been newly decorated but I have not been able to complete all the work yet. I have a secluded south facing garden, a conservatory and a covered veranda. There is parking for your car at the front of the property. There are so many beautiful beaches within easy distance along with other places of interest and the coastal path. I always spend time with my sitters before I leave showing them the nicest places on the Ordnance Survey maps, which of course are available for you to use. There is no village shop, but there is a good local store/ post office in Solva which is just 5 minutes drive from home. There are also pubs, coffee shops and a very nice restaurant in Solva. In Haverfordwest we have Tesco, Morrisons, M&S, Aldi and Lidl for food shopping, and a good selection of other shops for browsing or buying! This update is being done in great haste as my holiday is fast approaching, but I can of course give further information, so please just ask. I also need to update the photos, but I actually have had the same kitchen installed as shown in the photo of my old home and the furniture is the same, it's just in a different location!! The only main difference is I no longer have a log burner. I will try and get some photos on in the next couple of days, but am anxious to secure a sitter for my lovely girls.
Responsibilities & Pets
I am looking for someone who is prepared to "adopt" the pets and shower them with love and affection. I would like it if you go out for the day, you take Dolly and Sasha with you. They are not used to being left at home for more than 4 hours at a time and they are no trouble when they're out. They are very well behaved in the car and can be left (dependent on the weather) in the car and will not cause any damage. I'm also looking for someone who will treat my home with care and respect, and will also be prepared to do basic work in the garden, like grass cutting and watering of plants if necessary - we do have a fair bit of rain in Wales!!
Doll is 13 years old and her days of being a manic terrier are over. She's had both her back legs operated on and as a result needs only gentle exercise. Walking on pebbles or jumping up and down steps needs to be avoided, but she still loves walks on the beach even though she is losing her sight and enjoys paddling (she's never wanted to swim!) She is a very loving little dog and craves company, she would far rather come in the car to the supermarket and wait in the car, than be left at home. Obviously this cannot be done on hot days. The same applies to Sasha although she's a lot more energetic than Dolly and is a very friendly little dog. Both dogs are good with other dogs.
Misty, like all cats is independent but also loves company, especially at meal times. She can be a bit picky with food but enjoys being groomed whilst she eats! As she is long haired she needs brushing every day. She likes to play and can be quite vocal, especially when you first see her in the morning!...
The pets don't really have any set routines other than feeding times. I take the dogs out, when the weather is at it's best or when we have low tide so that we can make the most of beach. Dolly really will not go out in the rain, so sometimes I just take Sasha. There are some walks I will do with Sasha but not with Dolly, but all can be explained should you decide to take on this sit!! All of them enjoy chilling in the garden. Whilst a car is not imperative, I would recommend that you do have the use of a car to fully enjoy the many beautiful places in Pembrokeshire. + More info
