House sitter in the beautiful Wye Valley for 3 dogs and 6 hens
We are a couple in our 60's, Jenny and James. We have 3 small dogs who are fun, friendly and energetic but obedient, 2 are Jack Russells, one bitch and one neutered male, 4 years and 2 years old respectively. The 3rd dog is a mongrel who looks like a small whippet, he is a neutered male, 10 years old called Billy. All of them love their walks and cuddles.
The 8 chickens will keep you in eggs and will enjoy your company....
Our house is cosy and comfortable, with lovely views, and in easy reach of The Black Mountains, the Brecon Beacons and Hay on Wye, with Hereford and Brecon half an hour way, other towns such as Great Malvern and Worcester about one hour away. There are many lovely walks and other delightful villages in the area.
For winter visitors we have a large wood burning stove as well as central heating, and a Land Rover with winter tyres is available for use which works in all weathers.
The chickens live in our orchard and the dogs have the run of the rest of the garden which is large.
We are in a very peaceful setting, the house is one mile from a main road, 4 miles from Hay on Wye, and our road is single track only. We have a few neighbours who are friendly and helpful if you need them, we are surrounded by fields and have our own orchard as well as a large garden, in a lovely rural setting.
The internet works at 30+ megabits per second which is fine for everything you are likely to need. + More info

Responsibilities & Pets
Dogs: Feeding twice a day, a good walk once a day and as much attention as you want to give them.
Chickens: Let them out when it's light/when you get up. Fresh water and check food daily. Clean out the coop daily, collect eggs through the day and close the chickens in at night....
House: Please keep it clean and tidy! In winter bring in wood when needed, the wood burning stove is available and very cosy. There is central heating as well which needs to be turned down at night. Internet is high-speed and available throughout the house.
Garden: In hot dry weather watering the plants is essential, otherwise any other gardening you feel like doing. In winter clearing snow if required especially to the chicken house is necessary, and salting the front drive if icy.
Transport: If you don't have your own car our Land Rover Defender is available, it has a manual transmission and is very good for our narrow lanes. It is a sturdy and reliable vehicle but very old fashioned.
Otherwise please keep in touch on a fairly regular basis but not necessarily every day! + More info
