Two pups and 3 hens in West Anchorage
Hi there! I am relatively new to the Anchorage area, having been overseas for work for several years prior to moving to the 49th state.
My boyfriend and I have several weddings coming up in the Lower 48 and would love to have someone care for two sweet, energetic pups and three hens. Both dogs are house-broken and do well on the leash....
Ziggy is a loveable 4 month old fox red lab. He’s mild tempered for his breed and loves attention, humans and animals alike. Loves to play fetch and swim (when the water isn’t too cold!).
Miss Rory is nearing 1 year and is quite gangly growing into her Mastiff-mix body. Loves people and quickly learning to love her red-headed little brother :) + More info
Our Home & Location
11 year-old 2-story home very close to The Rustic Goat restaurant in an older neighborhood in West Anchorage. The Coastal Trail is part of our regular running route and easily accessible for longer walks.
The dogs are only allowed downstairs, which is laminate flooring. All bedrooms are upstairs, which has all carpet.
Responsibilities & Pets
Spend several hours a day with the dogs playing and keeping a watchful eye on them.
We try to walk them once a day; as a minimum in a short <1 mile loop in our neighborhood or drive to some more scenic areas in town (Kincaid Park, Coastal trail, Flattop, etc) for longer walks. They are unfortunately too young to jog/run with, which I’m learning to be patient with for now!...
Both dogs are fed twice a day. They are kennel trained and should be in there when no one is home and at night when they go to sleep.
The three chickens recently started to lay eggs; we check the nesting boxes about twice a day and find 2-3 eggs every other day right now. This will likely change some as the weather gets colder. They do enjoy being outside of their coop in a small run we’ve set up for them in the yard, but still segregated from the dogs. + More info
