Just my husband and myself. We love to travel. We are BIG readers so you will never be without a book, in this home! I am a physician assistant and my husband is a teacher. I also make jewelry and my husband studies piano and guitar so musical instruments are around.
I also have a woman who rents a room 2 nites/ wk. she is employed by the same company as me. So she will be there usually on Sunday nite and Thursday nites
Our Home & Location
We live in a quiet neighborhood. We are about 1 mile from the University of Arizona. Its easy to bike around here (there are bike share places all around- the closest being about 3 blocks away.). The University has a recreational center and a swimming pool for a small daily fee. Reid Park is about 1/2 mile away which has a pool and a lovely walking and bike path and a zoo. Our neighbors are very friendly.
There is a lot of hiking and biking in Tucson. We love to do both and can give you information....
We are also foodies and can give you info on wonderful locations for eat and drink. Natural food stores within walking distance, excellent pizza, coffee shop, local market, ice cream (including cashew ice cream!)- all within walking distance.
Mount Lemmon is our closest mountains. 9000ft elevation. Lovely woods, hikes and skiing in winter, if snow...
Our home has 2 forms of cooling- swamp and A/C. The desert is hot in the summer so cooling the house is a must, for yourself and the animals. Heater for winter, for the days it does get chilly.
There is a doggy door that all the animals use all day. It is always available.
Very large enclosed backyard. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Feeding pets. Making sure you will be at home every night. They are social and it is a must. water my plants 1/wk.
Cats get fed every morning with a bowlful of dry food. If chatty and hanging around refrigerator, we give them a handful of treats on top of refrigerator. Always make sure water bowls are filled as all the animals share (inside and outside)...
Dogs get fed in morn and eve. Dry food. I give them a scoop of wet food with their dry food at evening meal. They get treats (dog biscuits) 2 times a day. They love to be walked on leashes (but they do pull- not well trained that way!). If summer, only walk before 8 am and after dark. Again, that is not a must but they'd love it!
All the animals use the doggy door. The dogs will bark if someone at door (occasionally for no reason that I know of). Dogs like to be near humans at night so have their dog beds in your bedroom. The cats may try to sleep with you + More info
