People-loving cat in cute granny flat
I'm a single professional and I travel for about 1 week to 3 weeks, about twice per year. Jenson, my 10 year old, 13lb cat, is a "people-person", is indoor-outdoor and loves to be fed and pet and sit on laps. He's a talker when he wants something, but spends most of his days and nights sleeping. He has no health issues (though sometimes he'll get in a spat with the neighbor cats).
Our Home & Location
I live in what I call "the countryside", where the only sounds are the frogs and birds. Still, it's only a short drive away from downtown Grass Valley, Nevada City and Auburn - so wineries, breweries, shopping, restaurants, hiking trails and more are abundant! The granny flat is a one bedroom, one bathroom with a large deck, giant front yard with fruit trees, gravel driveway, and lots of privacy - except from deer and wild turkey. My little place has a washer/dryer and lots of books, but no television and not very fast internet, though if you are a wee-bit tech savvy, you can hook up your devices to stream to my apple TV to access a speaker and small screen, great for downloaded podcasts, audio books, or even Amazon prime downloads (I have instructions for how to do this). Outside, there is a large picnic table under the shade of a large tree, and small fire pit that can be enjoyed if being attended responsibly. Also, have a few house & deck plants that need a drink of water once per week or less, if you are willing!
Responsibilities & Pets
1. Feeding/watering: wet food once per day, dry food refill his automatic feeder, fresh water (he loves water direct from faucets but I'm trying to get him accustomed to a new water fountain).
2. Inside/Outside privileges: He needs to come in at night (he is always willing to do this, and a shake of his bag of kitty treats will convince him, if necessary) and will often want out in the morning after seeing that he has food in his dish. He has some spots on the deck to hang out on, so he can be left outside all day (but if you are home, he'll ask to be let in, and out, and in, etc.)...
3. Kitty Litter: He needs access to his kitty litter box (some interior doors need to stay open for this) and every few days, his litter box needs to be scooped out, adding fresh liter as needed.
4. Lovin' up: Jenson needs some cuddles. He's pretty much a hedonist, and loves to be pet. He likes to sleep on or near people, but will oblige if you don't want him there (mostly). + More info
