Ed and Louise’s Sierra Foothills home
Welcome to our comfortable home in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California. People come to this area from around the world for the natural beauty (Yuba River one of the highlights), as well as rich cultural life. Tons of music, theater, restaurants, shopping, hiking and more. The twin towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City are award-winning for their historical preservation as well as support of all the arts.
Our Home & Location
We have a charming 1936 Craftsman style home in the old gold mining town of Grass Valley. Our kitchen is vegetarian. We are walking distance of the town, walk to cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery store and movie theater. Also close to The Center for the Arts (thecenterforthearts.org) where you can find world-class performances. We are a block away from Summerthyme's, a cafe/restaurant with great live music weekend mornings. Just four blocks up the hill is Empire Mine State Park, with miles of hiking and biking paths through the woods. King-sized bed, and master bath has a tub and shower. We have a cozy living room and fully equipped kitchen.
Responsibilities & Pets
Take care of two well-behaved middle aged female cats. They get fed morning and evening, and like to be let in and out during the day. They have a litter box in the house, and a safe yard to play in, so they can be left for a few hours during the day. Franny is very shy, so she needs to be courted a bit. Both cats are afraid of running and loud children, so we ask that you not bring young children. Wedgy loves to play a little each day, and Franny especially likes to be brushed.
