SF Bay Area! Dog Lover needed to sit our lab (mix) & terrier (mix)
We love to travel, but we feel bad to leave our fur family behind. Izzy and Riley are used to a lot of attention from us, and are used to people house sitting when we are called away for work. We both work in tech - Nate in software and Brittani in UX research.
Our Home & Location
We live in a charming house in a quiet neighborhood in Silicon Valley. Our three-bedroom, two-bathroom house includes has a large backyard with plenty of fruit trees for coffee drinking or porch sitting. We have a California King bed in the Master bedroom, and the guest bedrooms have Queen beds. There is a separate office with VERY high speed internet, and a desk you can use. The sofa pulls out with a Queen sized mattress.
We love to cook, so the kitchen is fully equipped, and there is a dishwasher, oven, and washer/dryer. TV options include Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video on a 55" TV in the living room, or 42" in the bedroom....
We are a 20 minute drive to Palo Alto. Best way to get to San Francisco or Oakland is to walk or Uber to the Fremont or Union City BART station (about a mile walk) and take the San Francisco/Daly City line (departing) or the Warm Springs line (returning). San Francisco is about a 45-55 minute train ride, Oakland is 35 minutes. San Jose is best reached by car — you can Uber to downtown in about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
If you want to take day trips to Santa Cruz or Napa, each about 1.5 hours away, a car is recommended. From our home, you can walk to a market, corner stores, Starbucks, and a few restaurants (Mexican, Chinese, burgers), with a bunch of restaurants within a ~5-15 minute drive in Fremont or Palo Alto. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
The dogs are very easy going. They require two slow walks a day (once in the morning, once at night). Izzy takes thyroid medication twice a day, but it's easily administered wrapped in a piece of turkey.
