Oakland Hills with a View
We’re your average family of three and moved to the Bay Area from Atlanta 5 years ago. I am a design manager for a software company and an aspiring chef. My wife Elizabeth is a plant stylist and stay at home mom with our 4 year old son. We have 2 dogs, B and Penny that we love dearly and are the main reason we prefer house sitters.
Our Home & Location
Our home is nested in the lower hills of Montclair. Surrounded by trees with lots of peace and quiet. Downtown Montclair is less than a mile away which has some really great restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops 5-10 minutes in the other direction is Rockridge where you’ll find even more great places to check out as well as the Rockridge Bart Station. There’s also an AC transit bus stop at the bottom of our street.
The house has an open floor plan with a total of 3 floors, one bathroom and one enclosed room. The master bed with a king sized bed and bathroom are on the main floor with an open area that leads out to a balcony with a beautiful view of the hills. The is a child’s bedroom on the main floor as well. The kitchen, dining room, laundry and chefs pantry are on the next floor down and the bottom floor is a casual living area with 20’ windows making it a very blissful place to relax....
There are quite a bit of stairs so I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone that has a problem with that though you’ll mostly be going between 2 floors but there are stairs that lead down to the front door from the driveway as well. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have two dogs and they are both inside pets. The only responsibilities are feeding them and taking them out to use the bathroom while at the house. We lock them up in crates when we leave for any reason. B is a 3 year old golden retriever who’s a little bit of a dummy but she loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. She gets jealous when you pay too much attention to Penny and not her.
Penny is a 9 year old whippet/chihuahua mix who is mostly a grumpy old lady that naps all day but she loves to cuddle up on a blanket with you. She is starting to lose her sight so sometimes we have to help her find the water bowl when she needs a drink at night.
