Our two cats need lots of TLC while we sail away for 10 days
My husband (Noel) and I are both in our mid- 50s and have been married for 12 years November. Noel retired from 22 years in the US Air Force and worked for several years as a civilian at Vandenburg Air Force Base as an IDT specialist for the missile defense program. He took early retirement and we moved from California to Northern Nevada, where we have been for about two years. I previously worked as a secretary and court clerk for county systems in California for nearly 20 years, and have since been on medical disability for a rare blood condition. Due to health reasons, we are in the process of moving back to California to lower elevation. Our house here in Nevada has sold and is in escrow. We have purchased a new construction home in a new housing community in Anderson, CA. We are expected to move the end of August or by Labor Day weekend. We had booked a 10-day cruise months before our decision to move. Thus, we are moving to a town where we don’t know anyone or have a pet sitter lined up. We apologize if we may not be fully unpacked or settled in, but the house will be basically in order and provide the basic necessities. Between my husband and I, we have three grown children, with no grandchildren as of yet. Our cats are our babies and provide me with much comfort and support as I deal with my medical issues. My husband and I are trying to fulfill my bucket list items, so this cruise is one of the few trips planned.
Our Home & Location
As stated above in my introduction about us, we have yet to move into our new home in Anderson, CA. We aren’t familiar with the surroundings. Anderson is a suburban town, population of about 10,000, located in northern California not far from Redding. The booming city has grown to become a great residential area for those seeking blue skies, mountain views, lake vacations, and a warm, dry summer climate. The area has experienced amazing growth in recent years. Located in Shasta County approx. 10 miles south of Redding, Anderson is north of San Francisco and Sacramento, east of the California coastal cities such as Eureka, and west of the Lassen Volcanic National Forest. Anderson is within an hour or two of most major tourist attractions, though it is only a short drive from Redding where you will discover the majority of things to see and do. You can spend an afternoon or evening soaking up the local entertainment, rest for the night, and be back out exploring attractions such as the Sundial Bridge in Redding, McConnell Arboretum, Shasta Dam, Lake Shasta, Burney Falls, and Mt. Lassen National Park with its bubbling mud domes and incredible mountains.
Our house is new construction in a new housing community. It is a quiet area where the majority of traffic is only the residents who live there. We are a half-mile walk to Walmart, Dutch Bros Coffee, and other businesses, and near an outlet mall, theater, and Anderson River Park....
Our house is a 3 Bedroom, 2 bath house. The sitter will have the guest bedroom with a queen size bed, use of the guest bathroom, laundry, and common areas. The backyard will not be landscaped at this time, but will have a covered patio with sitting area. I will gladly post pics of the house after our next visit there next week. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
The responsibilities will be to feed, play, and provide loving care to our two cats, clean up after the cats and yourself, tend to the litter boxes, makes sure the cats are comfortable and warm, perhaps water some plants, take out trash on trash days, and collect the mail.
