Palm Springs, CA - Dog and House Sitter
My Husband and I enjoy travelling, usually long-weekends away. We work from home, so our pups are used to someone being around most of the time.
We have 2 babies (Arthur (12) - Dachshund & Lola (8) - Boxer/Pit Bull Mix)....
We live in a great Mid Mod home in Palm Springs, where we all enjoy lounging by the pool.
We prefer a sitter that isn't travelling with their own pets, Arthur is an older gentleman, and needs his space. :)
We hope you will enjoy your stay with our kids! + More info
Our Home & Location
Palm Springs is located in Southern California (Coachella Valley). Palm Springs took off as a playground for the Hollywood Stars in the 40's, 50's, & 60's. Palm Springs has a great collection of Mid-Century Architecture to take in. Our home was built in 1960 by Donald Wexler.
There are some great restaurants to visit. Some of our favorites are: Reservoir, Tropicale, 849, Rooster & Pig, & Farm just to name a few. There are plenty more to try out....
There are a lot of hiking trails in the area, and Joshua Tree is about 45 minutes away.
Taking the Tram up to the top of Mount San Jacinto is a great way to take in the sights of the entire valley.
But mostly, we enjoy taking in the mountain views from the comfort of our pool. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Lola has recently lost her eye sight, and is very tentative when coming in and out of the house. She does enjoy being outside, but she is taking is slow these days. She does navigate the house and yard pretty well, but needs to be watched on the pool side of the house. She has fallen in the pool, and gets very stressed by that. She's not a big fan of water. She is a great girl that needs a little help these days. She also doesn't realize how big she is, and tends to run over her brother when she gets too excited.
Arthur is a senior Dachshund, and sometimes has some back pain (likely from his sister running him over). He moves a bit slow in the morning. If he is having issues we have meds for him, and he should rest in his cage. He's not usually a fan of this, and will try to whine and cry his way out....
Feed the Dogs Twice a Day (6 am-ish & 5 pm-ish).
Keep the Dogs water bowl filled.
Let the dogs out as needed. They enjoy the sun, but it gets too hot for them to be out for long periods in the Summer, and neither of them like to swim in the pool. :(
Pick up after the dogs daily, or else Lola will try to pick it up on her own, which isn't pretty. :)
Keep the house picked up, as you would your own.
We usually keep the Thermostat set to 80/82 in the Summer months.
Water the house plants and outdoor plants on the tables on Monday's.
Enjoy the Sunshine! + More info
