American River Relaxation and Snuggle-mates
We are a family of six. My husband is a teacher and I am an education consultant. We have 1 young adult in college locally and on her own and my nephew in college who lives with us during the school year. We have 2 kids at home, one high school and one in 4th grade. We have a lot of stuff and live modestly because we like to travel! If clutter or dogs that think they are humans bothers you, please don't accept :)!
Our Home & Location
We have a two story five bedroom, 3 bath house on the southside of the American River off HWY 50. There is river access so bring your kayak. Kid- friendly, especially if you have an 9 year old boy, or kids who love Legos. We don't have cable but we do have wifi and wii-u, as well as a DVD player. We have AC for the day and hot tub for the night. The beds in each room are: a queen futon, another queen futon, full, king adjustable, and twin. We have plenty of space if you need to come in a day or two early, or leave a day or two late.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have two dogs, Nala (2) and Huell Howser (3) and one Cat, Bailey (13?). Bailey comes in at night and out in the morning (no litter box). We have two squirrels that live in our 100 year old heritage oak tree, an Egret that visits and a bull frog and fish in the pond but they take care of themselves! I run the dogs in the morning or in the evening but a walk is fine. If you have kids there is a park less than a half mile down the levee and the dogs can run around while the kids play (or you can play tennis). There is a larger park close with an adjacent dog park, or there are places on the river that are perfect for letting the dogs run wild while the kids skip rocks. The dogs hang inside when you are around and outside when you aren't. They love to cuddle and will sleep on the couch or in the bed if you let them. They eat twice a day. Bailey free feeds.
