20 Minutes from San Francisco in Marin County
I'm Linda, a recent retiree after a 40 year career in Human Resources. I love to travel, especially internationally -- now that I have the time to do it. Also, my younger son lives in London --- so I love visiting with him, learning more about London & the UK and then continuing on to other foreign adventures. I'm a native San Franciscan and have lived here all my life except for my junior year of college when I was fortunate enough to go to school in Rome. I read extensively, have a deep interest in history, which partially explains my passion for travel, and come from a long line of great home cooks!
Our Home & Location
I live in an Eichler (mid-century modern designer) -- a one-story ranch-style, 4 bedroom, 2 bath home. Eichler designed for indoor/outdoor living, so there's lots of glass and light, as well as a central interior atrium. The house is at the end of a 9-house cul de sac with a large lot and garden. There's also a large patio behind the house with gardens on both sides. If it's warm enough, there's patio furniture so you can sit outdoors and enjoy! My neighbors are wonderful, quiet and friendly. I'm 20 minutes north of San Francisco and 30 minutes from some of the best wine country in the world -- Sonoma and Napa Valley. Marin County is a outdoor paradise with walking, hiking, biking and pretty much any outdoor pursuit you might enjoy. Although there's some public transportation, Marin is a suburb and you'll definitely need your own car to get around. I have wi-fi, DirecTV, access to various streaming services (Netflix, Acorn, Amazon Prime) and a brand new 40" flat screen TV in the guest bedroom as well as a 42" flat screen in the living room.
Responsibilities & Pets
Zoe is an affectionate indoor/outdoor cat. She loves people, but also values her alone time. She's used to being by herself for extended periods, since I worked full-time for many years. She's very low maintenance, is not on (thank goodness) any medications, and basically needs to be fed and loved.
I do have several indoor plants which will need to be watered weekly. The garden is on a drip irrigation system, so the only outdoor watering needs will be for my extensive potted succulent collection. They'll need weekly watering....
That's it. Other than locking up when you leave, there's really nothing else to worry about. + More info
