Double Trouble! New Dates in Santa Barbara
We are a family of 3 and we love to go on adventures... mostly extended weekends, but longer trips a few times a year. While we love having our pups with us, sometimes it's just not practical.
We have boarded them in the past, and even at the doggie resorts, they still seem to get anxiety. We feel they are the happiest at home while we are gone with people who are around regularly to hang out with....
While there is a good degree of flexibility with your schedule so you can enjoy the sights and area, we do ask that you plan to be around a bit too in order to make sure the pups aren't lonely.
I prefer to do a video chat to make sure it's the right fit for us both prior to confirming a sitter.
I also have a very detailed guide I can send for instructions. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in a 3 bedroom house in a great quiet family neighborhood in North Goleta, which is 15 minutes West (our beaches face south) of downtown Santa Barbara. There is so much to do just in the near vicinity of our house- Beach, tennis, bike path, hiking, restaurants, etc. Or you can venture into Downtown Santa Barbara to enjoy the scenic downtown, Mission Santa Barbara or the historic waterfront. Santa Ynez Valley is also about 30 min. from us which offers a great array of activities.
You have access to TV (netflix, hulu and showtime, please note there is no cable) and WIFI and also has a neighborhood playground, a green space, pool and we are in walking distance of the beach. Come see the American riviera!
Responsibilities & Pets
We are looking for someone to care for our home and two loving and playful 9 year old labs while we are gone.
We prefer experienced pet sitters who love dogs and don't mind walking a few times a day and feel comfortable handling large dogs.
We ask that you please only apply for the dates specified and do not send us inquiries and introductions for future dates. Thank you for understanding.
Sadie and Oliver are our main priority while we are gone. Our dogs are very loving, well behaved, and full of energy. They need to be fed 2 times a day Taken on 2-3 walks daily. We prefer people who are experienced with larger dogs, as they are strong, but it is not required. You will need to pick up waste and they love belly rubs. They can only be left alone for a max of 4-6 hours at a time without being brought in the house for a period of time. They have a 10 foot X 6 foot outdoor kennel to keep them safe while you are gone exploring. We prefer you stay in the near vicinity of the house with them for your walks and don't take them to the beach or in your car with you on your adventures. They aren't the best listeners off leash, so leashed, neighborhood or path walks are the best and safest thing for them....
Please note- They sleep on the floor in the bedroom with you at night and sometimes snore a little. They aren't allowed on people furniture!
They are early risers- usually by 6:30, so if you like to sleep in, or if you are a light sleeper this may not be the right fit for you.
We prefer someone who doesn't mind lots of doggie kisses and shedding fur.
It is important to us that this is the right fit for you and for us. We do ask that we video chat prior to confirming a house sit so that we can chat vs. just email.
We appreciate those that are tidy and we ask that you do some light housekeeping (vacuum and change sheets) prior to departure. + More info
