Your "Peace" of Paradise
A little bit about us, my wife is a lifelong resident of Weed who is currently a school administrator. I on the other hand grew up in Houston, Texas and moved to Chico, CA in 1999. I moved to Weed after graduating the academy and worked as a police officer for 10 years. I have been medically retired for six years. Alisa and I met on a blind date which was coordinated by mutual friends and 11 years later I still consider it one of the best days of my life. I married into a family of three boys who are now grown and on their own (for the most part). In February our youngest son blessed us with our first grandchild. Our oldest son will add another boy to our family in December.
Our Home & Location
Our house is centrally located midway between Mt. Shasta and Yreka, California. We are just 4 miles from Lake Shastina Golf Resort and Sunset Bar & Grill, both of which are open seven days a week. We are 32 miles away from Mt. Shasta Ski Resort. Our house is 1 1/2 miles from the nearest paved road which provides both quite nights and peaceful days. Mt. Shasta dominates the surrounding landscape providing breathtaking views year round.
We live on 20 acres in a single story home with four bedrooms, three of which will be available and two bathrooms. We have an attached two car garage as well. During the winter, our house is primarily heated by a wood stove which does an excellent job. We have central heat, however we only use it to take the chill off. We have deer, coyotes and plenty of wildlife all around us. My wife and I spend many of our days enjoying our screened in back deck where we relax, soak up the fresh air, enjoy the beautiful views and each other’s company. Our home provides many opportunities for fun games such as; a bocce ball, horseshoes, corn hole and dart boards. We have surround sound speakers on the back deck as well as in the garage. We have high-speed wifi, with a Roku attached to two different TV's.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our Sheba is low maintenance in every sense. She spends most days sleeping but loves to go on walks in the surrounding trails and hills. She sleeps inside her kennel in the garage at night and can either stay there during the day or go outdoors on a leash. Just understand that she weighs 115 lbs and although very gentle, has the strength of a small horse when walking her on a leash.
She is fed in the morning and has food and water available at all times. All we ask is that you enjoy the solitude and beauty of our Northern California home and love on our 6 year old Bullmastiff, Sheba. We encourage you to get out and explore the area knowing Sheba can go around 6-8 hours in the garage before needing to go outside.
