Come meet Tashie
I recently retired from teaching special education in Denver. I am an avid traveler and have decided to do a few trips this year out of the country. Normally my neighbors help with Tashie or I find a sitter to stay in the house. I have decided to try a pet sitter as I am going longer and Tashie does require more care since she is older. I am very active and enjoy hiking, biking, theatre and volunteer work.
Our Home & Location
I live in a three story 2-bedroom, three bath condo 15 minutes from downtown Denver. It is very clean and has all the modern accessories including a fireplace. I am very close to a bus stop and about 2 miles by car to the lightrail station where you can transportation to much of Denver. I am within 5 minutes of a shopping center with a grocery store and restaurants. My condo sits on a property that adjoins a major walking/biking bath that goes over 30 miles. There is visitor parking on premises. My complex has an outdoor pool (open in the summer), tennis courts and a clubhouse with a hot tub and small exercise room. The mountains are about 90-120 minutes by car depending on traffic. Rocky Mountain National Park is a two hour drive. Boulder is about 45 minutes away and Colorado Springs one hour.
Responsibilities & Pets
Tashie is a very special little girl. She has been my only cat for the past 15 years. She has never had another pet in the home so she is a bit protective at first. She does enjoy people but takes time to warm up. She is an elder cat and really does not do much except sleep and enjoy time in her heated bed. She does love to go outside on the balcony and the front of the house but only with someone. She does not run but I do not let her out alone. She really is an indoor cat.
Tashie is fed twice a day. She is not a big eater so I tend to give her food twice in hopes that she will eat most of it. She is picky so it can be a bit challenging. She also gets daily vitamins and she does need a pill every morning and another one every 3-4 days. This may change. She loves treats and gets them frequently. She has some kidney disease so she drinks a lot of water and has water in several places throughout the house. Those get changed daily along with her litter boxes. She has two litter boxes but they do not get that full each day....
She loves to be brushed as long as it is done carefully. I do leave music on for her when I am gone but not sure that makes a bid difference.
I have 4 house plants which do require watering. + More info
