Two Standard Poodles In Cape Coral, FL
Our two Standard Poodles, Maggie and Millie, are central to our lives (in additional to our 4 children and 8 grandchildren, of course!). We have two homes, on in NH and one in FL and travel between the two, always taking our girls with us. In addition, we frequently travel for anywhere from a long weekend to a month at a time, and often need sitters--sometimes for FL and sometimes for NH.
While we are new to Trusted House Sitters, we have had dog/house sitters live in our house and take care of our animals while travel since 2000.
Our Home & Location
Our summer/fall home is in Bow, NH, adjacent to Concord, the state capital. It is a free-standing house in a rural 55+ condo community, positioned one hour away from Boston, one hour from the lakes region and the seacoast (Atlantic Ocean) and two hours from the White Mountains. There is a large great room, a master bedroom with king bed and en suite bath, a guest room with separate bath and a large sunroom with two decks--one overlooking the mountains with conversation furniture and a gas fire pit, and a more private one with a hot tub overlooking the woods.
Our winter/spring home is in Cape Coral on Florida's Gulf Coast, just north of Fort Myers and Naples. Cape Coral is known for it's 400 miles of canals and being close to Sanibel Island. It not directly on the water, but has a lovely pool and was completely updated in the spring of 2017 with a new kitchen, an expansion of the pool deck and new screened pool cage as well as new furniture. It has a master bedroom with a king bed and en suite bath, and a guest room with twin beds and a separate bath. There is a great room as well as a separate living room with large sectional and new smart TV. It is in the Pelican section of Cape Coral, near the best restaurants, boating opportunities and just 3 minutes from noted Rotary Dog Park.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our "girls" are at the age when lying around is their preferred activity. They will play in the yard in cool weather (never in hot humid weather, rain or snow), but do love to go for car rides. Being poodles, they do not shed. We have used wireless fence systems to train the girls to stay in the yard, and (being poodles) they do. We would ask that Maggie and Millie be kept fed, watered and loved and that the house be kept clean and neat. That's it! Oh...and whether in NH or in FL, we ask that poop be picked up and put the provided disposal bins on a regular basis.
