My husband and I are in our 70's. He taught at the medical school at UH, and did medical research , and I was in the field of special ed. and worked at the U. of Hawaii, and with the Dept of Ed. We have been in Hawaii almost 50 years. We have 3 children, 1 here, and one on Maui, and 1 in Atlanta, GA. We have had pets our entire marriage, mostly dogs and cats, but also flying squirrels, and a chicken. We are serious Packer fans, but will accept most team's fans,:Viking and Bear fans may take more consideration.
Our Home & Location
Our house is excellently located on the Windward side of Oahu, and a couple blocks from H-3. We are only 2 miles from Kailua beach. We are overlooking Kaneohe Bay, and Coconut Island.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our dogs are real couch potatoes, but love a walk to the nearby marsh, and hang in there the whole distance. They are fed dry food once a day. We have a fenced yard. If it is rainy, it requires wiping their feet when they come in or putting Whimsey in the mudroom sink, and rinsing off her feet. Our old girl, Possum, is very much an alpha dog, and is very strict with Whimsey, regarding what doors she can use, etc. We do feed them separately, but they are usually OK, Whimsey is a genius about what and what not she is allowed from Possum. However, Possum regards visitors, and particularly grandchildren as "her People". We have had many sitters, and they have not had a problem, but I wish sitters to be aware of the situation.
