Christmas and New Years in Chicago
Hello, My husband, Dirk, and I are traveling to Ireland with my parents over Christmas and New Years. We are looking for dog lovers who will take care of our dog, Finley, while we're away. He's a happy, sweet, and active dog during daylight hours but then he is a sleeper once the sun goes down. In the early morning, we walk him at our local park and beach - he loves to play fetch with a tennis ball and there are a lot of other dog owners out at this time. Quirks; wants to chase squirrels and rabbits, barking when someone knocks on the door/rings buzzer. He also doesn't like skateboards and has anxiety riding in the car.
Our Home & Location
Our home is on north side of Chicago, just 2 blocks north of Loyola University and 1/2 block from Lake Michigan. Our home is a 2100 sf spacious top floor condo and it's a 4th floor walk-up. Although we've lived in this neighborhood for 14 years, we just bought this home and are moving in mid-October. We are in the process of some renovations and the photos are from the previous owners and their decor; we will update photos once we are settled in around late October. There is a master bedroom, guest bedroom, den (TV room), 2 full bathrooms, formal dining room, eat-in kitchen, home office, sunroom, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and enclosed back porch. Our home is close to great public transportation (Chicago Transit Authority Red Line - Loyola stop and 147 express bus) that can take you to downtown Chicago (about 30 minutes to loop) or to Evanston (Northwestern University), which is just north of us. There are restaurants, a movie theater, coffee shops, grocery stores, and many other places within a few minutes walking distance from our home.
Responsibilities & Pets
Four walks per day. Morning walk includes fetch with tennis ball by our local beach (weather permitting, of course). Lunchtime walk, dinnertime walk, and a quick pee walk just before bed. There are designated places for him to "go" and we have eco friendly poop bags, which need to be disposed of in our garbage dumpster in the alley. He eats in the morning and at dinnertime and we give him a treat after each walk. In the evening, he likes to sleep on the couch or on our bed for a little while in the evening, but then he usually finds his way to the floor for the majority of the night.
