Fabulous cats (plus beautiful sunny house!) in Logan Square Chicago
We are excited to share our beautiful, two-floor, three-cat house with you!
Situated in Chicago's popular Logan Square neighborhood, our house is just blocks away from the subway and walking distance from coffee shops, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and all the things there are to love about this hip neighborhood. For our vacation this fall we are looking for a housesitter to stay in the sunny second floor apartment (two bed, one bath) sharing the apartment with eldest cat Tanc while looking after the other two (Tiny and Tino) who will remain in the first floor apartment. We recently adopted a semi-feral cat, Tiny, and though he is a sweet little guy and is loving the domesticated life, he has too much energy for his new older brother Tanc and prefers to spend the day wrestling with his brother Tino.
All three boys love strangers though Tanc is the most outgoing, and Tiny has just learned that he loves getting petted. Tino is an excellent sleeping companion with no sense of personal space. Any of them will gladly join you on the couch for an impromptu sleeping session.
The house is a mix of historic charm and new amenities, and we've been renovating since moving into it six years ago. Both floors have full kitchens, living rooms, and bathrooms, and the upstairs is well-suited for group dinners. AC and heat are controlled by Nest, there are plenty of books, magazines, and games to keep you busy on rainy days, and you couldn't hope for a cozier place to call home while you explore Chicago!
Our Home & Location
Our house is a quick walk (10 mins) from the Logan Square Blue Line train as well as 3 buses, and a 30-minute train ride to downtown. We are also a 10-minute walk from the heart of Logan Square's restaurant and bar scene, including Lula Cafe, Billy Sunday, New Wave Coffee, Wasabi, The Owl, The Whistler, Wyler Road, The 606, and The Burlington. If you love Mexican or South American food we are one block from some of the best offerings in Chicago. Our street is quiet but just around the corner from any adventure you want to have. You’ll love the location, the coziness, the space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Responsibilities & Pets
Our three cats are pretty much the best ever. All three of them are rescue cats, Tino and Tanc from the city shelter, and Tiny was a feral cat who came in from the back yard. They're each a bit different personality wise, but all very loving and eager to hang out for pets or play. Tiny, as the youngest and newest member of the family, is especially eager to play with a mouse on a string for as long as you are willing. In terms of care, they're pretty straightforward. Keep the dry food and fresh water topped up, split a can of wet food among them every couple of days, and scoop the boxes. We'll make sure that you have lots of food and litter on hand so that everything is easily accessible. We have a great vet, and will leave her contact info with you, as well as give her a heads up so that there is no problem obtaining care if needed.
In addition we have two tropical fish, Celeste and the Man in the Yellow Hat, who just need to be fed every couple of days. They try to keep their partying to a minimum.
