Winter in secluded Maine lakeside cottage
We are mostly retired (Harvey continues to do some limited IT consulting work remotely) and will be spending the winter in our RV in Arizona. Our cats do not like to travel and we do not like to leave our house unoccupied so a sitter works great for us, and has several times in the past when our sitters have loved Bella and Luna, the house, and the stunning views and solitude. Lots more info available including more photos and a video if you provide your email address.
Our Home & Location
New contemporary lakefront home on a beautiful lake, 35 minutes from Bangor, Maine. Gorgeous winter landscape and fully equipped for winter living with propane furnaces and wood stove, propane range and oven, automatic propane generator, high-speed internet, washer/dryer, satellite dish and 3D TV + Blu-Ray, etc. Secluded living with only a few winter neighbors. One neighbor plows (at his convenience) the two-mile access road to the state highway and our driveway. Two wonderful cats will love your presence. Ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snow-shoeing at your doorstep. Ideal for writer or other person(s) with portable winter projects. Start date is flexible. Also please note: the map shows the location of the Mariaville town office, but is far from the actual location of our home.
Responsibilities & Pets
Care of the two indoor-only American Bobtail spayed and de-clawed female cats, 13 and 15 years old and very friendly, healthy, and people-loving. They require feeding and litter box maintenance. We require mail retrieval from mailbox at the end of the road and forwarding important mail; watching over the house and notifying us and designated contacts if there are any problems.
