A Dog near the Mountains
Greetings from the White Mountains. Murphy and I live in a 200-year old house not far from the White Mountains in New Hampshire. I've recently retired from a business I started in 2010 making handknitting yarn from American wool fleece in partnership with several New England spinning mills. I visited Scotland with my grown kids last autumn and fell in love with the Highlands. I'm planning to go back for three months, from mid-August to mid-November, to hike and explore. I'm looking for someone to take good care of my dog, Murphy.
Our Home & Location
Our home is on a quiet street that dead ends on the Saco River. We live across from a small mountain that Murph and I hike each day. The neighborhood is rural and quiet. The screened back porch looks out on meadow and mountains. Twenty five minutes away is North Conway, a bustling tourist town with restaurants and shopping. In the opposite direction is Bridgton, a small Maine town with a lovely book store, a few shops, and a cafe or two. If you love quiet and birdsong and enjoy the outdoors, walking, hiking, kayaking, you'll love where we live.
Responsibilities & Pets
I'm looking for someone who loves a young and energetic and sometimes anxious dog who loves to take walks, loves to run, loves to chase a ball, loves to play. Someone who's willing to water a garden and can be content to spend a lot of time at home.
