Gorgeous Victorian with 2 lovable dogs just 5 min walk to Washington Metro
We are a semi-retired couple living in a modern Victorian house in the leafy, historic community of Takoma Park, Maryland. Our spacious home is located just outside of the border with Washington, D.C., and a 5 minute walk to the Takoma Red Line Metro station, which will take you most anywhere in the greater D.C. area. The quaint "downtown" Takoma Park, with boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, is 10 minutes by foot.
We travel frequently and are looking for a responsible housesitter(s) to look after our two lovable dogs, Maggie (Corgi-Retriever) and Andy (Beagle-Basset Hound), both about 32 lbs each. The property features a large, fully fenced-in yard so there is plenty of room for the dogs to run about, plus there are nice dog walk trails and parks in the neighborhood....
We can be flexible on dates: We have a fully furnished basement with 2 bedrooms so if you need to arrive before our departure or stay on a while following our return we can accommodate. + More info
Our Home & Location
Takoma Park, a small town of 18,000, is located in Montgomery County, Maryland, a county with some of the highest levels of education and income in the U.S. Known for its tree-lined streets and restored Victorian homes, Takoma Park offers the advantages of suburban space with ease of access to the vibrant Washington D.C. area.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main expectation is care for our two dogs. The home itself requires very little in the way of maintenance tasks but we ask that you clean up after yourself.
The dogs need to be fed twice a day (morning and evening) and let out in the yard from time to time. If the weather is decent we take them for a walk once per day. The dogs are used to staying in the house by themselves for 4-5 hour stretches at a time.
