Spend the holidays in peaceful Michigan location with two sweet dogs
We live in a charming house on a calm river in central Michigan. Our home is in a very quiet area, but is close enough to walk to the local shops and restaurants downtown. There are wonderful trails nearby to walk or run on, and you can kayak or fish right in the backyard if the weather is warm enough! If you are looking to explore the area we are within a couple hours drive of most places in the lower peninsula.
We love our time at home but also love to travel and spend time with our family who lives in other parts of the world. We want to make sure our great dogs have someone to stay with them when we have to be gone. We have two dogs, Deacon (7) and May (2) who are both collie mixes. They both love people, playing, and generally getting attention.
Our Home & Location
Our house has a large fenced yard with river frontage that is great for fishing, swimming or kayaking when it's warm outside! We are within walking distance to our small town's center, which has restaurants, a convenience store, parks and walking/running trails. Our house and the local area are a great place to relax and unwind, but is still close to many attractions within Michigan. The house itself has two great living areas, upstairs is a smaller space with great views of the backyard and river, and downstairs we have a family room with a fireplace and pool table. We have two guest bedrooms to accommodate our sitters, and two bathrooms (one near each guest space). The house is family friendly.
We are just 15 minutes outside of Lansing, which has some great restaurants and activities, and around an hour or two to many other lakes, hikes, and fun cities within Michigan. Grand Rapids is forty five minutes away and is known for great breweries, and Frankenmuth - an adorable Bavarian town with the worlds largest Christmas store is a little over an hour away.
Responsibilities & Pets
We need someone to stay at our house when we are away and take care of our two dogs. The dogs are used to at least a quick walk each day (~half an hour), but they both love long walks and hikes if you are looking to explore the area and want to take them along. They are good by themselves in the house but shouldn't be alone for more than seven hours at a time. We have a large fenced yard they can play and run around in, and there are nice trails nearby to walk them on.
