Looking for pet and housesitter for two kitties - experience with administering meds needed
My husband and I currently live in a single family home in Eagan, MN. We travel periodically and would love to have happy, safe, healthy kitties to return home to :)
Our Home & Location
Our home can be found in the quiet, safe suburb of Eagan, MN. We are a short 10-15 minute drive to many major Twin Cities activities/must see locations, such as the Mall of America, the Minnesota Zoo, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, Minnehaha Falls, and many more. More conventionally, there are several restaurants, bars, shops, and grocery stores within a 5 minute drive (including the Twin Cities Premium Outlets).
In our home you will find wifi, access to Netflix and Hulu off of our TV, over 50 movies to choose from, as well as many different video games and systems. We have laundry facilities and products in the home that you are welcome to use....
**Having the use of a car, such as a rental, is definitely recommended, but we -may- be willing to leave a car for the use of the right sitter** + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have a few plants that we'd like to be watered, including two lilac bushes outside if dry and a plant in the living room. We ask that you check our mail every few days and leave the house equally as tidy as when you came :)
The biggest responsibility is with our kitty. Gabe has feline irritable bowel disease (IBD) and med administration will be needed. As of right now (Oct 2018), Gabe gets 1 pill of prednisolone every other day. We will be weaning him off in the coming months so we will update this as needed. He is *very* easy to pill with the use of a pillshooter and is very used to having it done. We can film a demonstration for you to help out with this. Also included in responsibilities with Gabe, cleaning of his litter boxes (one in the master bedroom and one in the living room) and checking his food and water daily. If he is not drinking much water, or not eating very much due to stress we keep a few cans of wet food to encourage him to eat. We will purchase enough food for the entirety of your stay so that you do not have to worry about that! We will also go over all of this with you personally and leave a detailed written description on the fridge :)...
Gabe's personality is very "kitten-like". He is incredibly playful and will sometimes get a little too playful with play-biting. When he does this, we usually just get up and walk away. To help avoid nighttime play fights (aka attacking our hair) we play with him for approximately 30-45 minutes an hour before we go to bed and that typically helps a great deal. He is a very sweet kitty and loves to lay in our laps and watch TV with us! He is incredibly kind, and a little clingy, so don't be surprised if he follows you around a bit :)
We recently adopted another beautiful kitty, and her name is Rinoa :) she does not require meds just different wet food and lots of love and attention!! + More info
