Country Living in the Bluffs of Southeast Minnesota
We are retired veterinarians who travel frequently. We are looking for someone who enjoys country living and is willing to fill our birdfeeders and feed hay to our mini pony and mini donkey.
Our Home & Location
We live in a large, open floor plan home built in 1991 on a thirty-acre farm located 3 miles from Lanesboro Minnesota. The rolling bluffs and rivers are picturesque from every window. The house has two bedrooms that are available with queen beds, a large loft with elliptical and an extensive library, two full baths, laundry room, and formal living room. A large great room with cable TV, broadband internet and wifi make working from home fast and easy, cable TV, dining room, a large well-equipped kitchen, den, sunroom with additional full-size bed and wrap around decks plus a second-floor deck and three car garage complete the house. We also have a swimming pool and hot tub. The basement is equipped with a pingpong table, a pool table and a home gym including a Bowflex weightlifting system.
The house is located 1/2 mile from the Root River and Root River Trail which provides 70 miles of paved biking and miles of kayaking or tubing in season. Bicycles, kayaks, and snowshoes are available to use....
The sitter will need a car and be willing to drive 3 miles on a gravel road. all wheel drive would be helpful during the winter months. We have a 1/4 long driveway which we hire someone to plow. The sitter will need to clear a small amount of snow in front of doors and garage doors if it snows. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have a mini pony and a mini donkey who roam our pasture and need to have a couple of flakes of hay fed to them daily during the winter. They are usually self-sufficient but they enjoy occasional human contact and peppermint treats. Someone needs to check their automatic watering system periodically. We have some houseplants that need watering twice a week and we like to keep the birdfeeders around our house filled.
