Your Retreat in the Heart of the Cities
Greetings from the Twin Cities in Minnesota. The land of 10,000 lakes and home to some of the best live theater in the United States. I'm an IT director for a large financial services company in Minneapolis and Melissa is an attorney at a law firm in St Paul. We love to travel and, as we approach retirement, we're planning to be away from home for longer periods of time.
Our Home & Location
We have a custom-built 3 story, 3,500 sq ft home on the edge of northwest St Paul. There is a beautiful wrap-around deck that covers three sides of the house and descends to a patio and fire pit area in the backyard. The main floor living quarters consist of a living room with fireplace, full kitchen, TV room, and a half bath. The upper floor living quarters consist of an exercise room, guest bedroom, office/ guest room, full bathroom, and the master bedroom with separate bathroom.
We live in a quiet neighborhood that consists of newer well-maintained homes with mostly professional empty nester couples. There is a bus stop at the end of our block that travels to Selby, Summit, and Grand Avenues in St Paul, which boast some of the best restaurants and shops in the Cities. You can also connect to the Green Line lightrail system, which provides transport to many venues, including both downtowns, several sports venues, the Mall of America, and our international airport....
The Cities is a major league community with professional sports including football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer. The University of Minnesota is a Big Ten school that provides all of the major sports as well. If sports are not your thing, you can take in some of the best live theater and music in the country. The cities has over 100 live theaters and unique music venues including First Avenue (home to Prince), The Armory, Target Center, Excel Center, and several more.
If you like the outdoors, the Cities has over 200 miles of on and off street bike trails; plenty of trails with access to cross country skiing, hiking, and picnicking; and many lakes within the city limits and within 5 minutes of the Cities for swimming and paddling. Both downtown Minneapolis and St Paul have extensive skyway systems that enable indoor traversing during inclement weather. + More info
